2019 ISAHU Highlights – Chapter & Member Winners!

The ISAHU bylaws are structured in such a way that the officers and Board of Directors are elected each year with terms beginning on the same day as the new fiscal year. ISAHU’s fiscal year begins on July 1st each year. Since officers are elected effective July 1st each year that means the calendar year is split between two Presidents. I was proud to represent ISAHU during the last six months of 2019 and Don Griffey, GNIAHU Chapter, was President the first six months of 2019. Both Don and myself considered 2019 to be a very successful year for ISAHU. In case you missed my 2019 wrap up please click on the link below to see for yourself. Thanks for being members!

Congratulations to ISAHU Members 2019 REBC Certification Attainment:

I would like to congratulate Susan Rider IAHU Chapter, Tony Nefouse IAHU Chapter and Lisa Heinkel NEIAHU Chapter on attaining the designation of REBC. In the January/February edition of NAHU’s America’s Benefit Specialist magazine all of the 2019 winners are listed. As one of Indiana’s very first REBC designees I understand the effort it takes to continue to earn designations rather than just finding easier methods to attain required CE credits.

In Memoriam:

I am sorry to have to inform you of the recent passing of two ISAHU members. They will both be missed by their families, their friends and their business associates. Lonnie Nefouse was a member of the Indianapolis Chapter of Health Underwriters and Gary Billings was a member of the Northeast Indiana Chapter of Health Underwriters.  Both of their obituaries are available by clicking on the links below.

Membership! Membership! Membership!

NAHU and ISAHU are both conducting membership campaigns. Please refer all the carrier and vendor representatives you work with to the ISAHU website and insist that they become NAHU/ISAHU members if they want your business. Please forward this link to fellow agents and industry representatives that are not current NAHU/ISAHU members: https://isahu.org/become-a-member/

INsure 2020 Health and Benefits Expo!

It is now time to register for the biggest two-day event in the history of ISAHU. The ISAHU Board of Directors approved combining the very successful Medicare Summit and State Convention into one event that gives ISAHU members the best of all worlds with NAHU Certification classes – extra time to meet with sponsors and multiple breakout sessions allowing the biggest ever set of options for the CE classes you want to take. Classes are designed for both Medicare and Group instruction. Thanks to the tremendous financial support of our vendors, pricing is the same for this 2-day event as past separate events. Registration for the Expo and a detailed agenda can be found by clicking on this link: https://isahu.org/events/insure2020/

NAHU Certification, LPRT, and Triple Crown

A friendly reminder to be sure and include NAHU Certification Classes/LPRT/Triple Crown in your business plans for 2020.

NAHU has certification courses available as follows: Single payer Healthcare Certification, Account Based Health Plan Certification, Benefits Account Manager Certification, Advanced Benefits Account Manager Certification, Benefits Technology Certification, Employer Sponsored Health plans in a post ACA Era Certification, HIPAA Certification, Individual Health Insurance Certification, Medicare Certification, Self-Funded Certification, Advanced Self-Funded Certification, Voluntary Worksite Certification, and Wellness Certification.

Information on these courses can be found at NAHU.

Leading Producers Round Table (LPRT) and Triple Crown. LPRT was created in 1942 to recognize the successful underwriters of accident and health insurance.  The NAHU LPRT committee is committed to making LPRT the premier program for top health, disability, long term care and worksite marketing insurance producers, carrier reps, carrier management, and general agency/agency managers. The 2019 LPRT application process is closed but it should be on your calendar to apply in 2020.

NAHU created the President’s Triple Crown Program to recognize those members whose individual contributions to NAHU help advance the association’s mission. Like baseball’s Triple Crown, it recognizes accomplishments in three key areas. Both LPRT and Triple Crown information is available on the NAHU website or contact your local chapter President for assistance.
