GNIAHU welcomed Joe Moser and Marni Lemons from the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration to our October meeting. Joe provided us with a HIP 2.0 Update and continued to sound cautiously optimistic that HHS will approve the HIP 2.0 expansion. We have the slides available if anyone would like to review them. Cliff Miller of Anthem BC & BS also provided insight and information about 2015 plans in the individual marketplace. ISAHU President Mike Ripley made the drive from Fort Wayne to give us an update on the hard work being done by the State Board on our behalf.
We are also very thankful to have had Cindy Trahin from the Northeast Indiana chapter present a 1 hour Medicare CE at the meeting. Personally speaking, I usually complete most of my CE online, but attending Cindy’s CE really reinforced the benefit of having an in-person session. Being able to ask questions and lean on Cindy’s expertise, I learned several Medicare tips that are the sort of thing that you learn from experience in the field, and would never see in a Medicare CE module.
