Washington, D.C. — The National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and the Indiana State Association of Health Underwriters (ISAHU) commends members of Congress from both sides of the aisle who recently advanced legislation that will fully repeal the implementation of the Cadillac Tax and the Health Insurance Tax (HIT) included in the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
“These ACA-related taxes have increased healthcare costs and reduced choices for American families and businesses,” stated NAHU CEO Janet Trautwein. “A full repeal of both of these onerous taxes in the end-of-year federal budget package will strengthen and preserve healthcare coverage for hardworking Americans.
“We applaud members of Congress on their bipartisan efforts to protect the health benefits of working Americans and their families as well as address one of the key drivers of escalating healthcare costs. And we urge them to vote for this commonsense legislation before the end of the year to prevent further cuts from the health insurance benefits of millions of Americans. Our goal is to help all Americans receive the health insurance coverage they deserve at a price they can afford.”
