Greetings! I hope you are having a great summer and enjoying some downtime before Q4! It’s quickly approaching. For those of you with kiddos out there… it’s almost the most wonderful time of the year… back to school! And (fingers crossed) it will be IN PERSON! Woo hoo!
As always, your ISAHU Board of Directors is working hard behind the scenes on your behalf. We all attended NAHU’s Annual Convention in June (virtually) and are so excited that Susan Rider won the race for NAHU Secretary!
We also held our annual strategic planning meeting in June, where the theme was, “I did so because I said I would.” As you all know, serving on the ISAHU board is a volunteer gig. Every single board member has a full time job, families, friends, as well as serving in other volunteer capacities. We were challenged by our facilitator, Nancy Ball-Blake to get creative! While some things we are doing are outstanding, we always need to strive to be the best we can be! Feel free to reach out to Nancy if you are looking for a facilitator!
One of the most interesting take-aways from this event was realizing that although we are all members of NAHU for various reasons, most of us in leadership roles are all here for the similar reasons. One major challenge for us is that the older and younger generations are just not communicating in the same ways. We have created a special task force to figure out how to address these issues. Please reach out if you are interested in participating!
As always, we have an open door policy. If you have any ideas for events, newsletter articles, comments, complaints, whatever… feel free to reach out!
