We held our September meeting in Columbus, Indiana in an effort to attract potential new members and to give our members from the area an opportunity to have one close to home. Our venue, the Bakalar-Atterbury Air Museum, was outstanding as well as our turnout. One of our members, Larry Mayfield, was able to provide lunch thru his agency’s generosity. We offered 1 ½ hour of free CE. Joe DeVito and Lora Mount provided all of us great information we can pass on to our clients and use personally. Joe is the Regional Veteran Service Officer Coordinator and Lora is an Attorney specializing in Elder Law.
Being that we were at a former Air Force Base it was quite fitting to hold our annual remembrance of Sept 11. Along with a Color Guard comprised of Veterans we had various members tell of their experience’s that day and how it has affected their lives.
Our October meeting was back in Scottsburg and though our turnout was light we had great discussions on the upcoming open enrollment for Medicare, Federal Marketplace and Group renewals. It was a great opportunity to share ideas and strategies with each other and everyone felt they learned something from the meeting.
November we are scheduled to have an accounting firm discuss 2018 tax rules, so as always, we invite anyone interested to join us.
See you at the South Central!
