The State of HUPAC and ISAHUPAC

I’d like to take a moment and thank each of you that have contributed to HUPAC and or ISAHU-PAC during the 2018 calendar year. Your giving to the Federal and or State Political Actions Committees is an important element in NAHU and ISAHU’s overall advocacy strategy. 2018 contributions exceeded any year in the recent past.

One of the many reasons and benefits NAHU and ISAHU provides is legislative and regulatory advocacy for you and your clients. As we have seen in the last year, Congress has the ability to change the IRS code at any time. NAHU along with our Legislative teams and HUPAC fight a constant battle to preserve our employer client’s ability to continue to offer employer sponsored health insurance that is not taxed. Discussion about taxing health insurance have been discussed on both sides of the aisle. Your HUPAC contributions gain NAHU favorability and access to legislators on both sides of the aisle to push back on this and many other issues that would have a negative impact on you and your clients.

The ISAHU-PAC provides our ISAHU legislative team with favorability and access to those in Governor Holcomb’s administration and members of the Indiana General Assembly. The ISAHU-PAC is one more communication channel ISAHU has available with the Holcomb administration and Indiana General Assembly. This communication channel is in addition to meetings both in a formal and informal setting that occur all year long. The more channels of communication and discussions with our State elected officials the more likely these elected officials will be to contact us with questions or ask our professional opinions on health insurance issues in Indiana.

To those that contributed in 2018 to HUPAC and/or ISAHU-PAC thank you for your support. If you did not contribute in 2018, we would hope you would consider doing so in 2019.

Go Forth and Conquer

Don Griffey

2018-2019 ISAHU President
