What was the best part about CapCon?
My favorite part of CapCon had to be the opportunity to sit in the same “room” as Congresswoman Spartz. We all know they do a lot, for all areas of business, but actually getting to hear their thoughts, what they’re working on, and how we can work together to improve the healthcare industry is absolutely invaluable.
What was something unexpected that you learned?
Honestly, it was what our organization does from a political standpoint. Yes, healthcare and politics will forever be intertwined, but seeing in action what NAHU and each chapter do on a daily basis to make our careers/lives better was incredible. I gained a lot of respect for our legislative initiatives and how hard NAHU fights for what we believe in.
Why should other first timers consider this event in future years?
If you can… GO! Not only do you gain the experience/knowledge that I have already mentioned, but you also have the opportunity to listen to and learn from the some of the brightest minds in our industry. What we do in our communities is important, but this is bigger than that. With NAHU and all the men and women putting their efforts together, it’s incredible to think what we can accomplish. CapCon allows you to experience that first hand and have a better appreciation for what we all do day in and day out.
